Still alive! Something to get me back into drawing again as well as a part of something for school. Working on a small project about the Northern Leopard Frog. More soon. Was quite a challenge to draw without a background, especially something coloured. Hopefully it doesn’t look too much like a cut out something. Reference: here and my own dissection photo’s.
It is done, my most detailed pencil drawing to date! The skull of a badger, ventral side, drawn originally 1.5 the original size and here now shown at almost the actual size of the real skull. This was quite a challenge. Building up this drawing layer for layer and having the patience to do so and carefully too haha. Used pencils range from 8H to B. I have process shots of this too, the layer for layer thing, might make a GIF out of it. And as for the number of hours, ehm I kind of lost track but around 50 hours?
Wip’s of things that are coming soon and as you can see some are even done but part of something bigger. Patience is a virtue and thank you to the people who’ve stuck around to watch my odd collection of works. :) <3
Meles Meles being the latin name, European badger, ventral side. The size shown here is roughly the actual size of the skull, I’m drawing it 1.5 times bigger to get all of the little details in. Having a lot of fun with this so far. Assignment for school. Yes, more skullness on the way.
A drawing I’ve been working on and off for the past weeks. Wanted to try and use a more lighter palette then I normally use and tried not to go too dark either. He’s actually a remake of a really old drawing. XD I always liked his design even if it looked crappy but now he’s been upgraded haha. Wanted to try some more character designing, also weapons. Pose and composition might be a bit on the boring side but I’m happy with the result overall. ^^
Assignment for school. We had to simulate a microsurgery on a rat from the surgeons perspective. Main focus was hands and instruments as well as learning to combine loose elements into one illustration. The reference for the rat was a plastic rat that is used for training surgeons. The bowls of the rat were referenced from photos from dissection class. Painted with gouache, most detailed thing I have attempted with the material. Learned a lot. I’ve made some colour corrections in PS, the original one had a more brighter green. Might make a process GIF.
Not a planned thing at all but most fun to work on. Was a ballpoint sketch made before bedtime and it sort of stuck with me so I thought I’d give it a go and colour it. Vampirecrystalmoondragon yay, ahum XD School stuff is up soon next, pencil drawing and a painting version. :)
